읽는동안 엄마와 함께 숲속을 거닐며 풀숲으로 보이는 동물들을 발견해 가는 재미있는 그림책입니다.

< 책의 특징- 이런점이 좋아요. >

1. 마치 동물들이 숨어 있기라도 하듯 풀숲으로 보이는 동물의 특징적인 일부분을 통해 그동물을 아이가 유추하도록 할 수 있다.

2. 다음 페이지에서 그 동물을 알 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 그동물이 그 부분을 이용해 어떤 특징적인 일을 할 수 있는지까지 간단하고 쉽게 영어로 소개되어 있다.

3. 뒷부분 에서 입체로 표현된 사자의 입은 "I'll eat you up~~" 하며 엄마의 실감난 연기가 가능하도록 되어 있어 아이의 시선을 잡아 끌 수 있다.

4. 마지막 페이지에선 앞서 나왔던 모든 동물들을 만나 볼 수 있다.

특히, Can you see all the animals we met? 우리가 만난 동물을 모두 보이나요?

How many are there? 얼마나 많이 있나요? 란 문구를 통해

엄마와 아이가 함께 동물들을 세어 보고 숫자개념을 익힐 수 있도록 했으며, 조그맣게 풀숲에 숨어있는 사자가 재미를 더해준다.^^

재료: 빈 치즈통, 이쑤시개, 당근, 빨대

술래를 정하기위해 가위 바위 보를 하기로 했어요

이책은 한권에 두가지의 이야기가 있습니다.

바로 "Go away Mr. wolf" 와 "The old alligator" 랍니다.

전 그중에서 "The old alligator" 스토리를 재구성해 봤어요.

"The old alligator" 스토리 소개

세마리의 귀여운 아기 오리가 강가에서 놀고 있는데..

늙은 악어 한마리가 저녁거리를 찾으며 다가왔어요.

그리곤 차례대로 아기오리를 삼켜 버린답니다.

바로 그때, 지나가던 아기 코끼리가 실수로 그만 악어를 납작하게 눌러 버리지 뭐예요

아기 오리들이 악어의 뱃속에서 POP! POP! POP! 하며 다시 살아 난답니다.^^

책의 특징:

이 스토리에는 엄마가 아이에게 읽어주며 해 줄수 있는 모션이 함께 나와 있어

더 재미있구요. 아기오리가 세마리에서 한마리씩 줄어드는 걸 세어 보며

아이와 수학적 개념까지 집어 줄수 있는것 같아 더욱 좋은것 같네요

귤과 무우로 아기 오리들과 악어를 표현해 봤습니다.

너무 귀엽지 않나요?? ^^

Look at these ones! What are these?
이것들 좀봐! 뭘까요?

They're little ducks.

아기 오리들이 란다.

Do you know what sound ducks make?

오리들이 무슨소리를 내는지 아니?

Quack Quack.

I prepared little ducks made of mandarin oranges

and an alligator made of radishes.

엄마가 귤로 만든 아기 오리들과 무우로 만든 악어를 준비 했단다.

Three little ducks were playing in the river.
세마리 오리들이 강에서 놀고 있었어요.

The alligator is swimming along slowly,

when along came an alligator, looking for his dinner.
악어가 헤엄치면서 저녁을 찾는 중이었어요.

The old alligator went snap! snap! snap!

늙은 악어는 snap하고 물었습니다.

Who ate the duck? It's an alligator. 흑흑

누가 아기오리를 먹었을까요??

악어랍니다.

And two little ducks were left.

두마리의 아기오리만 남았어요.

Two ilttle ducks were swimming for their lives,

아기오리들은 살기위해 해엄을 첬답니다.

But the old alligator gave a great big smile.

하지만 늙은 악어는 커다랗게 미소를 지었지요

The old alligator went snap! snap! snap!

늙은 악어는 snap하고 물었습니다.

And One little duck was left.

그리곤 한마리만 남았대요.

One little duck was trying to reach the bank.

아기오리가 둑으로 가려했지만

But the old alligator was much too fast.

악어가 너무 빨랐어요

The old alligator went snap! snap! snap!

늙은 악어는 snap하고 물었습니다.

And No little ducks were left.

그리고 아기 오리들은 모두 남아있지 않았어요

This is baby elephant.

아기 코끼리란다.

A baby elephant, passing by, stumbled on the alligator,

squashing him flat.

아기 코끼리가 지나가다 악어를 발에 채여 납짝하게 찌부러트렸어요.

Out popped the little ducks, Pop! Pop! Pop!

아기오리들이 Pop!하며 튀어나왔답니다.

And 'Oops', said the elephant, 'sorry ald man'.

'The Paper Crane!'

한평생 성실히 자기식당에서 일을 해온 아버지와 그의 아들입니다.

쓸고 딱고 정말 부지런한 아버지 지요.

그러던 어느날 식당

길건너에 고속도로가 나는 바람에 사람들은 더이상 가게에 차를 세우지 않는답니다.

차를 몰고 그대로 가버리게 된거죠.

하지만 아버지는 식당의 빈테이블과 접시들을 딱고 또 딱고

전과 다름없이 부지런히 일하신 답니다.

어느날 허름한 차림의 늙은 노인이 찾아옵니다.

행색은 남루하나 좋은 매너를 가진 점잖은 노인이죠.

아버지는 자신의 솜씨껏 음식을 마련해 왕처럼 노인을 대접합니다.

이에 한푼없는 노인은 돈대신 마법의 종이학을 접어 주게 된답니다.

마법의 종이학은 손바닥을 치면 진짜 학으로 변해서 멋진 춤을 선사한답니다.

신기한 종이학에 대한 소문이 퍼지자 가게는 다시 예전처럼 북쩍이게 되지요.

며칠이 지나고 몇달이지난 어느날

다시 그 노인이 찾아옵니다.

주인은 너무 기뻐했구요

노인은 호주머니에서 플룻을 꺼내 불지요

그러자 학이 다시 살아나 연주에 맞춰 멋진 춤을

추구요. 노인은 연주를 마치고는 학을 타고 멀리 어디론가 사라지고 없답니다.

그이후로 그 노인을 본사람은 없구요

가게는 여전히 잘되지요..

잔잔한 감동이 밀려오는 책이랍니다.

전 읽는 내내 마음이 따스해 졌지요^^

<종이학 만들기>

A4용지 이용해서 그림책에서 본 종이학을 직접 만들었습니다.

Let's make a paper crane with this paper.

이 종이로 종이학을 만들어 보자.

First, fold it into triangular form as I do.

먼저, 내가 하는 대로 삼각형으로 접어.

now, unfold it.

이젠 펴고.

fold another side again.

또다른 쪽을 다시 접고

unfold it again.

다시 펴고.

Now, fold it along the line like this.

이제 선을 따라 접어 이렇게

at last, unfold it carefully into crane form.

마지막으로 학모양으로 조심스럽게 펴.

like this and like this.

이렇게 이렇게

The paper crane is completed.

종이학이 완성되었다.

Look at this!

it looks like the paper crane is about to fly.

종이학이 막 날려는거 같아

이번엔 색종이를 이용해서 아기 종이학들을 만들었어요^^

This is a little blue crane and this is a little puple crane.

This is a paper crane family.

종이학 가족이란다.^^

가은이 좀 보세요

혼자서 엄마따라 만들더니

초록색 색종이를 그만 찢어버리곤

오우! 하는거 있죠

이번엔 나무젓가락에 날아가는 것 처럼 실로 매달아 봤습니다.

책장을 한장씩 넘길때마다 괴물의 모습이 서서히 드러나다가 "Go away"를 외치면서 다시 차례대로 사라지게 되는 이야기로 아이들의 호기심을 자극하기에 충분합니다.

"Go away~"라고 연신 흥분하여 외치는 딸래미입니다.

단순한 그림과 간결한 문장 표현은 엄마가 어주기에도 부담이 없으며 유아들에게도 부담이 없습니다.

특히, 책의 내용은 자체로 무궁무진한 활용아이디어를 제공하고 있어 아이와 활용하기에 만점입니다!!!

손가락 주머니가 정말 훌륭한 변신을 하게 하는 그림책이빈다.

책을 보는내내 만져보고 소리도 지르고 웃고.. 가은이 너무 좋아합니다.

그림책과 퍼펫이 하나된 독특하면서 창의적이고 입체적인 그리고 아이들의 눈높이에 딱맞춘 책~ 이지요...

큰 왕방울 같은 두눈은 무서운 악어를 친근하고 귀엽게 표현해 주고 있네요~

크로커다일과 엘리게이터를 색깔부터 조금씩 미묘한 차이를 두고 표현해 같은 악어과 지만 서식지가 서로 다른 종류의 악어임을 잘 보여 주고 있습니다.

"아이들의 호기심을 이끌 뿐 아니라 아이들 스스로 puppet을 움직여 봄으로써 적극적인 책 읽기를 유도합니다. " 여기에 한표!!

혼자 앉아서 손가락을 집어넣고 악어가 되기도 하고 역할극을 곧잘 하네요~

부지런하게 일을 하는 크로커다일에 비해 아침을 먹고 목욕을 하고 블럭을 쌓고 그림을 그리고 책을 읽고... 바쁘다며 자기일만 하는 엘리게이터는 좀체 도와줄 생각을 하지 않지요..

결국 맛있는 물고기를 잡아 크로커다일은 혼자먹고 말지요~~~~

뒤늦게 후회를 하는 엘리게이터 크로커다일이 나눠 줄까요????

서로 도와야 한다는 교훈을 아이가 자연스럽게 배울수 있어 좋아요~

-That’s right, there are two eyes.

Who’s eyes do you think they are?

-Hmmm, maybe, let’s find out.

What do you see on this page?

-Yes, I see two alligators and this one has very sharp teeth!

What does it look like this alligator is doing?

-I think she’s going shopping.

And what do you think this one is doing?

-Maybe he is going to bed but he has a rubber ducky. I think that means he is going to have a bath.

Wow, this alligator has a scooter!

Oh, and this one is having bath! We were right. There’s his ducky.

Who do you think this alligator talking to?

-Yes, it’s the other alligator. It looks like he is going to eat some cereal.

Ewww, look at her eyes! What is she feeling?

-You’re right, I don’t think she is very happy. She looks angry.

And there is the other alligator. He is eating more than just cereal! He also has an egg and some bread and some milk for his cereal.

What is she doing now?

-That’s right, the laundry. She looks happy now.

What is the other alligator doing?

-Ya, they’re blocks. Let’s count them. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, there are eleven blocks.

Uh oh, look at her face. What is she feeling now?

-I think she is sad. I wonder why.

What is she wearing?

-She has a hat on her head, and an apron over her clothes. Look there is a fork, a small shovel and a watering can.

Do you think she is going to do some gardening?

-I do too.

Oh! Look at her face again. Can you guess what she is feeling now?

-Angry, you’re right. I think she is angry at this alligator. He looks very comfortable in his chair.

I think she is speaking to him again. What is he doing?

-That’s right. It looks like he’s going to do some painting. He has pink paint, yellow paint and purple paint.

She has a fishing rod, a net and a box. Where is she going?

-Ya, maybe she is going fishing! But I don’t think she is happy about it! She looks angry again.

Do you think he is having fun painting?

-It sure looks like it!

Oh! What are these?

-Ya! They’re fish bones!

What is she doing over there?

-I think she is eating.

Is this alligator eating?

-No, he’s not. But he sure looks hungry.

Look at his tail. Is it the same colour as her tail?

-They are both green but they are different kinds of geen. I wonder why they are different colours of green. Maybe if we read the story we will find out!
